Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) and ESPN Rise terminate 2011 tournament plans.

Premier Girls Fastpitch, Inc. (PGF) and ESPN Rise have not been able to agree on a critical issue regarding the upcoming 2011 PGF National Tournament.  As a result, they have jointly terminated negotiations on a new 2011 agreement.


PGF thanked ESPN/Rise for the many areas in which they assisted to help make the inaugural year a success.


PGF further assured everyone that plans are in place to provide a televised final that will again reach a widespread audience. The annual tournament attracts national attendance from elite girls softball teams and is scheduled to be held in Sourthern California this August.

ASA 2011 18u Gold Location and Dates announced.

San Diego, California is awarded the ASA 2011 18u Gold National Championship.

ASA announced the 2011 18u Gold Championship will be played on July 24-30, 2011 in the greater San Diego area. The 64-team tournament will take place at the Sportsplex-USA facilities in Santee and Poway, suburbs of San Diego.

According to ASA the 18U Gold Championship will continue on a rotational basis with the event moving to Oklahoma City, OK in 2012 and an east coast venue in 2013.

Top 50 travel ball coaches announced for the 2011 adidas Futures National Tournament, July 20-24, 2011 in St. George, Utah

Michelle Delloso, adidas Futures founder and director has announced the list of the 2011 Top 50 travel ball coaches to participate in the upcoming Futures National Tournament this July. The Futures Travel Ball coaches will select their top 15 uncommitted players from anywhere in the country and begin to build their tournament teams.

The coaches are holding tryouts for interested players, tryouts are free.
